The Vayu teacher training with Ana was an inspiring and life changing experience. After many years of yoga and aerial practice I found a new level of working in my body; a deeper and more profound way that I've continued to explore on my own and with others ever since. I'm now looking for the next opportunity to study with Ana again!

The focus of this class will be working with a fluid quality of movement in the air, using technical movements as a base, but giving equal importance to transitions and preparations. We will play with the ideas of working in the air horizontally, 360 degrees; using spirals, breathing, and searching for our dance from the center, in the air! This course is for Intermediate-Advanced students of aerial fabric, having a strong technical base and high level of experience.
This class is intended for those who already have a regular aerial practice in hoop or in trapeze. We will work from choreographed sequences in order to find the transitions between shapes by creating spirals between the ground and the air, using different points of support, and using the hoop as a dance partner.
In this class we will approach flexibility in a non-traditional circus way. We will lead our bodies thru the process of creating space, waking up proprioception, as a tool of connecting from the core rather than forcing muscles into postures. Working with body awareness a respectful approach for a more flexible, connected and injury free body.
Method known as Yoga for Dancers, is designed to work the entire body through spinal movement and joint articulation. Based on the body’s natural ability to move forward and backward and side to side, the movements are designed to be rhythmic and fluid. Rather than specific postures of stances being held for long periods of time, the movements are smoothly integrated, seeming more like dance than traditional yoga.
Class starts on a stool where you warm up your spine. You progress onto the floor where you address the hips, back and abs. You never hold a position for long but work at creating a fluid connection between the postures, creating a dance that is invigorating and toning.

VAYU is Sanskrit, it means air, expansion, god of the wind, inspired by these thoughts its workshops, will explore the Air, hanging in different yoga asanas, letting the gravity and support from the fabric release compression, opening joints working flexibility in a not forceful way, allowing the body to connect and open.
